Reigning Bennetts British Superbike champion Kyle Ryde made his debut in the Australian Supersport Championship at the weekend, claiming a double victory on his first visit to The Bend circuit with the Stop & Seal Yamaha team.
Ryde qualified on the front row for the races, but was able to secure a double victory against the regular contenders on the Yamaha R6.
Ryde said: “That’s my first Australian Championship round ticked off! A double win and more importantly had fun. Thanks to Robbie Bolger and Stop & Seal Racing Yamaha, you put a great R6 out and it didn’t miss a beat all weekend.
“The Bend was a mega track to learn and race around – I nearly got the lap record for the cherry on top but Archie pipped me. The racing with the boys, Tom Toparis, Archie Mcdonald and Olly Simpson was mega fun, I hope the guys enjoyed it as much as I did.”
